Cheap Used Textbooks, Saving Money for the Resourceful Shopper
In search of cheap used textbooks and motivated by saving money, Resourceful Shoppers have taken the time to learn all the tricks. These shoppers will go to great lengths to not only save money, but get the most money back from the books they do buy.
The Resourceful Shopper will begin researching their peer group early for books they can borrow, and compiling any information about the necessity of the learning materials for their classes. They’ll e-mail their professor before term starts to find out if there are any alternatives to buying the required text. After exhausting their search for alternatives, they’ll comparison shop for the books they do need to buy locally, and on the Internet before the term starts to find the best prices.
The Resourceful Shopper will compare prices at competing stores during buyback. If they’re not offered halfback they may elect to wait until the start of the next term to sell to a peer, or even list the book online to attempt to receive the most money back for their books. The Resourceful shopper does a great job keeping their upfront cost down rarely if ever exceeding $500.00. After collecting the residual values the net cost can be below $250.00, with an occasional semester below $100.00.
