Co-op College Bookstores

There are a small number of school-sponsored non-profit college bookstores around the nation. These are usually called co-ops. If your institution has a co-op bookstore you’ll likely enjoy discounted pricing for your textbooks. Since the majority of employees at co-ops are student volunteers, customer service is likely to be inconsistent. Proceeds from co-op bookstores simply go to keeping the operation running.

Unfortunately there just aren't many Universities that sponsor a co-op bookstore. The biggies are: Montana, Oregon, Texas, Wisconsin and UCLA. There are a few other small schools with co-op bookstores, but odds are you won't have this option at your campus.
