Shunning the College Textbook, the Discriminating Convenience Seeker
After a semester or two the student will end up with a college textbook that they never opened. The frustration experienced will cause them to become discriminating when they do their shopping for future semesters. Convenience Seeker’s and Thrifty Convenience Seeker’s will develop into Discriminating Convenience Seeker’s with experience.
Once they’ve determined they need a book the Discriminating Convenience Seeker will choose the most convenient location, usually the local bookstore. At this point, the semester is usually well underway and the used books aren’t likely to be available. Getting by without some of the required materials becomes this shopper’s greatest savings. If they sell back the books they did buy, these students will easily keep their net costs under $500.00 and could experience some very inexpensive semesters as well. The one caveat is a lack of used books available once this shopper has determined that they do need to make a purchase.
