Textbook Costs for the
Convenience Seeker Profile

Textbook costs for the Convenience Seeker tend to be on the higher end of the averages. The Convenience Seeker is usually having their books paid for by their parents or someone else. Because of this they usually have little incentive to save money. They spend no time comparing prices and end up choosing the nearest or most convenient place to obtain their learning materials. This could be the school sponsored bookstore or the Internet if they’re comfortable buying online.

If the Convenience Seeker isn’t opposed to buying used books, they’ll end up occasionally finding them as a choice on the shelf at the bookstore or on the Internet, affording some savings for textbook costs. If they choose to sell their books at the end of the term they’ll most likely go to the nearest bookstore buyback location. If they’re early selling their books they’ll be offered up to half back, if they wait until their last final is over they’ll receive much less.

This group makes up a large portion of the market and is what the industry thrives on. The Convenience Seeker could end up spending well over $500.00 for a full course load. If they choose to sell their books at the end of the semester they can back their net costs down under $500.00 a semester.
